What is the purpose of the job?

• To ensure various transactions in A2R process for e.g. Journal prepration and posting, Bank Accounting / Reconcilations / GRIR / Asset Management / MEC activities etc., are processed accurately and within agreed lead times to meet MEC close timelines.
• Deliver finance operations activities in line with Global Syngenta Standards (GSM), Finance Target Operating Model (TOM), other applicable corporate policies and procedures
• Act as Subject matter expert and Single point of contact for a given geographical area in relation to BS Reconciliations and IC Matching.
• Prepare and analyze Balance Sheet reconciliations, collaborate effectively with Finance Operations Team. Uses best practices and knowledge to improve processes/services 
• Prepare and analyze Inter Company reconciliations, collaborate effectively with Finance Operations Team. Uses best practices and knowledge to improve processes/services
• Drive continuous improvements in the processes, in line with the digital strategy

What are the main activities the person in the job is responsible for?

• Execute Syngenta’s A2R processes to ensure service to internal clients and external suppliers
• Strict adherence to global standard process (application of desk top procedures and business operations pack) to deliver accurate and quality outputs
• Timely delivery of relevant management reports and /or services to ensure accurate recording of all business transactions in ERP system according to the IFRS rules for group reporting and local GAAP rules for statutory reporting (local ERP only)
• Prepare and analyze (Journals, Inter Company, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Accounting, Asset Management, MEC Activities and Group Reporting teams collaborate effectively with Finance Operations Team in line with IFRS.
• Ensure to meet the KPI’s for the process are being met
• Support the Team Lead by working directly with the client to identify corrective actions when errors occur or KPI not met.
• Independently perform the activities with minimum supervision; provide regular status updates, issues & resolutions to the Team Leader / Supervisors.
• Proactively provide input to Team Leads on opportunities for improvement to the process or its execution.
• Balance Sheet reconciliations done in line with IFRS and local statutory reporting requirements.
• Inter Company reconciliations done in line with IFRS and local statutory reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with Finance Operations to ensure data quality and output are reliable and meeting defined performance KPI’s
• Support continuous improvement and efficiency in relevant processes
• Expected to deliver quality result in fast changing business environment
• Preparation of internal and external audit information

Experience required for the job

Essential: 

• 3-57-8 years of experience in multinational environment
• Concern for high standards and data accuracy and service mindset
• Ability to communicate financial information to a finance audience
• Proficient knowledge of handling large account reconciliations/ month end procedures/large inter company accounts.end to end A2R activities for a large multinational company.
• Sound in economics, finance, or accounting background
• Experience with ERP systems. SAP proficiency required
• Should have sound accounting skills in reconciliations and accounting treatment.
• Should have managed stakeholder in a multi country set up.
• Ability to effectively work in a cross-functional matrix organization
• Work in a shared service finance center may be beneficial

Minimum education and critical knowledge required for the job

• Holds Finance Qualification: Bcom/Mcom/InterCA /MBA
• Fluent in English

• Basic understanding of Syngenta business and industry drivers 
• Experience working with different finance teams in a given geography/ and absorbing business knowledge to understand how IFRS is applied to Syngenta business
• Technical development in finance skills
• Knowledge of   financial systems
• Working with digital finance process optimization
