Responsibilities
- Work as part of a cross-disciplinary team alongside data engineers, software engineers, data scientists, data managers and business stakeholders.
- Architect, design, implement, and maintain reliable and scalable data infrastructure to move, process, and serve data.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain software solutions for data integration, data management and data quality.
- Follow and advocate for software engineering best practices (technical design, reviews, unit testing, monitoring, alerting, version control, code review, documentation).
- Deploy secure, well-tested software compliant with privacy and regulatory standards.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Ensure service reliability by applying site reliability engineering best practices, including on-call rotation for owned services and maintaining SLAs.
- Design, build, deploy, and maintain Infrastructure as Code and containerized deployments.
- Contribute actively to improving developer productivity and engineering efficiency.
Qualifications (Essential)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 7–12 years of deep, hands-on experience in designing, building, productionizing, and maintaining scalable data platforms and data products in complex environments.
- Strong development experience in Python, Scala, or Java/C#.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks and Apache Spark.
- Advanced SQL and strong database fundamentals.
- Experience designing and implementing large-scale distributed data systems.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Strong knowledge across all stages of the data lifecycle.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to lead initiatives through technical influence.
- Continuous learning mindset and ability to adapt to new technologies and approaches.
