Our client is looking to recruit following category of personnel for their project operation in Sao Tome, Africa.

Position: Civil Engineer - Luxury Boutique Hotel and Gated Condominium Project in West Africa

This development will include a luxury boutique hotel and a gated condominium, with the ambition to redefine luxury and exclusivity standards. Desired Candidate Profile:

§ Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, with relevant industry certifications.

§ Professional certifications in HSE and construction management are preferred.

§ Exceptional communication skills, speaking English & Hindi. Foreign languages like Portuguese/ French are an advantage.

§ Ability to seamlessly integrate into diverse cultural environments and enhance team collaboration.

§ Ability to quickly adapt and learn new languages, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and versatility.

Job Responsibilities

§ Oversee the construction phase of a luxury boutique hotel and gated condominium project, ensuring all aspects meet the project’s high standards.

§ Technical adviser and expert on a construction site for subcontractors, crafts people and workers;

§ Adhere to and enforce Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) guidelines and compliance requirements rigorously.

§ Effectively manage a diverse workforce, including skilled and unskilled labor, to ensure project milestones are achieved efficiently.

§ Implement structural designs, oversee costing, and ensure discipline across all project phases. Liaise with various stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are of the highest quality.

§ Marking & Execution of Civil works, correlating plans with as-built drawings for execution 

§ Resource Mobilisation: Planning & implementing of works and arrangement of Mason/Labour to the designated places as per requirement in site and logistics planning as per site clearance.

§ Executing all R.C.C works as per drawing and schedule.

§ Following and instructing the safety precautions at site to the team. (safety protocols)

§ Preparing material quantities for each stage of construction

§ Responsible for maintaining material logistics at the project site. Such as Steel, Shuttering, Concrete, Sand, Cement, Metals

• Monitoring of civil works at each stage of work and responsible for tasks. 
• Carrying out building and finishing works like Brick masonry, Plastering, Granite flooring, False ceiling, painting works, water proofing, works etc.
• Responsible for daily & weekly progress reports and comparing with schedules to get completion of project in time sequencing and work break down structure.
• Basic knowledge and knowhow of all MEP/HVAC works.
• Regularly having toolbox meeting with the team before and after a task has been completed
• Competent is using all software used for construction AutoCAD, Revit etc
• Communication and coordination skill to the optimum with various departments.

Requirements:

§ Demonstrated experience in civil engineering, with a portfolio that includes successfully executed projects

§ Proficiency in leading diverse teams, exhibiting outstanding human management skills.

§ Deep understanding of civil engineering principles, HSE standards, compliance regulations, and construction management practices.

§ Strong skills in structure implementation, cost management, and project discipline.

§ Hold a valid passport and prepared for an overseas travel and work.

§ Architectural Knowledge

§ Valid, current medical records certifying excellent health are required.
