As a Sr. Data Engineer, you’ll focus on converting our prototypes and MVPs into scalable products by granting the necessary DataOps and DevOps are in place – from data ingestion and transformation up until the final solution deployment/observability. You will also have a key role on influencing i-Genie’s architecture strategy and infrastructure requirements in order to optimize the time to delivery, cost and the users’ experience. As part of this role, it is key that you have significant experience on the MS Azure Suite components, as well as with the Databricks and PySpark to promote and advise on the usage of those across the team.

We’re looking for someone who has:

· Strong experience in solving real client problems through data science (machine learning, statistics)

· 5+ years of experience in a data engineering practice, with a focus on NLP areas

· A degree in computer science in a Tier 1 or 2 college

· Ability to code in Python and PySpark. If you lack PySpark skills, mastery in Python and a basic understanding of Spark is required. SQL is a plus.

· General knowledge across the Azure suite and deep knowledge on Databricks

· Experience on pushing products into production-conditions (e.g., containers; kubernetes)

· Knowledge of the state of the art in NLP techniques and experience across common packages (e.g., CoreNLP; OpenNLP; NLTK; Spacy; TextBlob; LLM APIs)

· A basic understanding of processing text data in non-english languages

· Some experience with Large Language Models in a coding environment, incl. integrating these into pipelines and fine tuning is a plus.
